I did not choose painting first.
When I was in high school, I studied graphic design because it felt like the practical choice. It seemed like the safer path, the one that could eventually become a career. But painting kept finding its way back to me.

I still remember painting one of my first portraits. It was simple mostly black, white, and brown but something changed for me that day. I realized how much I loved the process of creating a human presence from lines and color.

Building a Painting.

Painting is the only thing that has ever given me a feeling that nothing else can.
When I paint, I completely lose awareness of time, my surroundings disappear, and
for those hours nothing exists except the brush, the colors, and the surface in front of me.

The physical act of painting is essential.
Holding the brush, mixing colors by hand, and feeling the paint on the surface creates an emotional experience that digital painting has never been able to replace.

The most satisfying moment is when I step back from a finished painting and realize that I created this entire world with my own hands.

Painting begins with a portrait;
Everything else finds its place around it
